If you have an idea in mind for a custom piece or if you have an heirloom piece of jewelry sitting in your jewelry box that needs refreshing, don’t hesitate to contact me and get the process started.
Step 01 Consultation
Consider your taste and inspiration. What type of jewelry do you like to wear? I recommend providing some inspiration pictures of jewelry or sketches and a rough estimate of a price range to the consultation meeting. I’m happy to use your inspiration photos but I will not replicate or copy another designers work. I will add my aesthetic to the design and put whatever input you have into it. If refreshing an heirloom piece of jewelry, there are limitations to using previously loved stones, especially the smaller ones. These smaller stones or any damaged stones will have to be replaced.
Step 02 Initial Design Ideas and Estimates
Based on the consultation, I will create the designs using CAD (Computer-Aided-Design) software. I render the 3D models to look like real images of jewelry to show you. I will attach estimates to the designs. These estimates may fluctuate once manufacturing the pieces starts.
Step 03 Finalize the Design and Quote
If changes are needed after the initial design ideas, I will make the changes and send you a rendered image again. Once approved by you, I will finalize the quote. This quote includes everything (design fee, metal, gemstones, shipping and insurance) before tax. I ask for a 50% non-refundable deposit. The final 50% is due upon delivery. Any gemstones included in the custom piece valued at above $2000 must be paid in full upfront. Because of the unique nature of custom design, unfortunately, I do not offer refunds for amounts paid toward custom work or exchanges or return on custom jewelry. If a customer decides not to continue with a custom order once a deposit has been made, there will be no refund for work completed at the point of cancellation.
Step 04 Production
Orders take 4-6 weeks for completion after final design is approved. I send the 3D file to a trusted service bureau. There they 3D print the model in a castable material, cast the piece in the metal of your choice, clean it up, set the stones, polish the piece and return it to me. I inspect the piece for quality and security of stones. Then, your custom piece of jewelry is delivered to you (by yours truly if in the Birmingham, AL area).
Step 05 Policies after Delivery
As a small business I unfortunately cannot offer a lifetime guarantee of free resizing and accent stone replacements. However, I do offer to resize one time at no cost and replace up to 2 stones under 0.10 carat at no cost to you.
